François Davel
François Davel worked for the first nineteen years of his career in various industries within the private sector. He started his career as a government official when he joined the South African Department of Science and Technology in 2005. For almost a decade, until the beginning of 2015, he was responsible for the administrative support in the office of the Deputy Director-General: International Cooperation and Resources. Next, François was responsible for organising the first four editions of the Science Forum South Africa. An event to showcase South African and pan-African science, technology and innovation. Since early 2019 he was appointed as the Director Development Partnerships, still within the International Cooperation and Resources programme. In this directorate François is responsible for the collaboration with international partners to implement national and regional development assistance programmes and projects.
